About the trip

The Kirkman House Museum is please to offer a trip to visit the homeland of our namesake, William Kirkman. William was born in Ramsbottom, England in 1831 and immigrated to the US in 1853.  Our trip to Great Britain will include a visit to Ramsbottom where we will walk in his footsteps and hear local history from the Ramsbottom Heritage Society members.

Our first museum hosted trip in 2019 was to Ireland to visit Isabella Kirkman's home turf.  We used GoAhead Tours as our tour company and modified one of their regular tours to visit Isabella's home town of Bally Bay with our own programing. This was so successful that we will be doing the same thing again with this tour and by popular demand will even use the same tour guide, Colm Austin.

We hope you can join us for this unique15 day experience.

About Me

My name is Rick Tuttle and I've been on the Board of Directors for the Kirkman House Museum... for a longgg time.  I always wanted to do trips to England and Ireland to see where William and Isabella Kirkman grew up. We went to Ireland in 2019 and now I'm planning Great Britain in 2023.  I've visited many of the places on this tour in 1993  and 2019 and am very excited to go back and share them with you.

If you are interested in the trip join our mailing list to the right and we'll invite you to a no obligation presentation or I'm happy to meet with you personally over an ice tea.
