"Whispers" are the radio transmitter and receiver Colm and local guides will use to communicate with us. See the blue wire/earbuds we are all wearing here. The local guide in the middle here has the transmitter and is telling us all about this castle. The "Whispers" is a nickname Colm gives them and they allow communication over a wide range which is really nice because you can wander around and still hear what you need to quite easily. Colm will issue everyone a receiver and single earbud at the introduction meeting the first night. They use a standard 3.5mm jack and go in one ear but if you want to bring your own wired headset you can. At the Roman Baths in Bath they use an audio guide similar to a phone but I noticed that the handset has a 3.5mm audio jack and I thought that a headset would have been much more comfortable. The "Whisper" bud should work with this but you might want your own stereo set?

About Me

My name is Rick Tuttle and I've been on the Board of Directors for the Kirkman House Museum... for a longgg time.  I always wanted to do trips to England and Ireland to see where William and Isabella Kirkman grew up. We went to Ireland in 2019 and now I'm planning Great Britain in 2023.  I've visited many of the places on this tour in 1993  and 2019 and am very excited to go back and share them with you.

If you are interested in the trip join our mailing list to the right and we'll invite you to a no obligation presentation or I'm happy to meet with you personally over an ice tea.
